Art Forum – Opening on May 13, the 2017 Venice Biennale has revealed the list of one hundred and twenty artists participating in the international exhibition curated by Christine Macel, “Viva Arte Viva.” Fifty-one countries are represented.
Macel said, “The role, the voice, and the responsibility of the artist are more crucial than ever before within the framework of contemporary debates. It is in and through these individual initiatives that the world of tomorrow takes shape, which though surely uncertain, is often best intuited by artists than others.”
The exhibition will also include eighty-five national participations featured in the historic pavilions at the Giardini, at the Arsenale, and in the historic city center of Venice. Four countries will be participating for the first time: Antigua and Barbuda, Kiribati, Nigeria, and Kazakhstan.- read more
